CDL Truck Driver

General Description:

CDL Truck Drivers drive a company vehicle to deliver tools, building materials, and equipment from our shop or the supply house to the jobsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and secure tools, building materials, or equipment onto the delivery vehicle
  • Haul equipment (skid steers, excavators, attachments) between jobsites, including safe loading and unloading
  • Deliver orders to site and unload material/equipment safely and accurately with coordination from the project Foreman or Shop Manager
  • Maintain delivery, service, and DOT logs, including pre/post-trip inspections and hours of service
  • Drive and work safely — obey traffic laws, follow company safety requirements, and correct jobsite hazards
  • Secure loads properly with chains, binders, and straps, and verify height clearance on oversize equipment
  • Assist around the shop when not driving — parts runs, washing trucks and equipment, and keeping dump beds clean
  • Professionally interact with internal and external customers
  • Communicate with shop foremen, dispatcher, group superintendents, and team members

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record — required
  • Pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions
  • Experience operating forklifts, skidsteers, and mini excavators
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Training/experience in equipment operation and maintenance
  • Problem-solving, trouble-shooting, and maintenance-oriented reasoning skills
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis, as well as other physical tasks
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification required — training provided
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification – desirable
  • First Aid/CPR certification – desirable
