Place and Finish Foreman

General Description:

The Place and Finish Foreman will organize and supervise a pour crew for all flatwork including floors and site paving. The P&F Foreman works closely with the General Superintendent and other Foremen to execute daily place and finish concrete work on various projects. This position includes complete ownership of the quality and production of our floors and site concrete.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and supervise the pour crew
  • Work hands-on with the crew — placing, leveling, and finishing alongside your team
  • Develop and execute plan for pours
  • Inspect subgrade, vapor barrier, embeds, and forms for pour readiness
  • Communicate with Field Staff and Operations team to go over full details of project cost, manpower, equipment, and scheduling
  • Ensure quality control of all concrete being poured including manipulation of the mix design
  • Utilize and track time sheets, delivery tickets, and sign in/sign out sheets
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are staged properly
  • Ensure the safety of crew members by following OSHA and safety guidelines
  • Direct placement and finishing techniques to achieve required tolerances and FF/FL flatness standards
  • Oversee curing and sawcutting operations, ensuring they are properly staged, resourced, and executed
  • Monitor weather during pours and apply cold-weather concreting procedures when required
  • Conduct daily safety talks and ensure safe operation of saws, screeds, and finishing equipment

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience supervising crews that pour large floors and pave
  • Familiarity with riding trowel machines and the techniques of finishing a flat floor
  • Maintain control of mixer trucks, pace, and correct concrete quantities
  • Ability to organize all equipment, materials, and tools and forecast future requirements
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot drawings
  • Ability to accurately calculate stone, concrete, and material quantities
  • Current valid driver’s license and pre-employment drug screen
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred (OSHA 10 minimum) — training provided
  • ACI Concrete Flatwork Finisher certification a plus
  • Availability for early-morning and occasional night pours
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
