General Description:

The Rodbuster is to place and secure steel bars or mesh in concrete forms in order to reinforce concrete to support building projects. The Rodbuster will use a variety of fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload rebar bundles onto or from trucks
  • Read placement drawings and bar schedules to determine rebar size, spacing, and placement
  • Cut and bend rebar to specification using hand and power tools
  • Deposit or place rebar pieces at the final destination as instructed
  • Tie pieces of reinforcing bar together using wire, pliers, and tie guns
  • Install chairs, spacers, and supports to maintain proper cover and positioning
  • Use paint to mark reinforcing bars for cutting or tying
  • Tie reinforcing bars in place horizontally for paving or floors, or vertically for columns and walls
  • Maintain equipment and tools to ensure long-lasting use
  • Follow all company and site safety guidelines, with full stop-work authority when unsafe conditions arise

Requirements:

  • 3+ Years Commercial Concrete experience
  • Previous use of concrete tools, equipment and machines
  • Current valid driver’s license & transportation
  • Pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to work off-shift hours and overtime as required
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Able to work at heights multiple levels above ground
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred — training provided
